EPIC EMPIRES is an action- and competition-oriented battle-themed convention with high standards for character portrayal and costuming within the eleven closed theme camps and districts of Neu-Ostringen. In 2024, EPIC EMPIRES will take place from August 21st to 25th - as always, at the Utopion grounds in Bexbach.
EPIC EMPIRES is an adult-oriented LARP, strictly for ages 18 and above. Players are accountable for their actions and resulting consequences both in-game (IG) and out-of-game (OG).
The fundamental idea behind EPIC EMPIRES is to provide players with considerable freedom within our game idea and event concept. We operate as a 24-hour in-character (IT) event. Through stringent standards, EPIC EMPIRES ensures maximum immersion, consistently implemented in-game through the DKWDDK rule system with Hollywood principle, the sacrifice rule and a prohibition on meta-gaming. "Anything goes' ' is not accepted at EPIC EMPIRES. All theme camps and districts in Freistadt Neu-Ostringen have their own costume guidelines to contribute to a believable and consistent game world.
The age restriction also allows for a notably more intense combat system, which is both straightforward and controlled by the "Auf´s Maul Codex" (AMC), escalating the intensity of each scene while keeping it manageable.
EPIC EMPIRES is not a costume party or LARP festival. The qualitative standards for gameplay and ambiance are assured by the organizers through Orga Camp Feedback (OLF) and by players through the annual awarding of the B-Note for gameplay and camp constructions.
EPIC EMPIRES is the product of a large community comprising players, camp organizers, and the team. Uniquely, EPIC EMPIRES involves the organizers of the theme camps and districts in the organization through the Round Table , where the event's concept is collectively developed. EPIC EMPIRES supports player projects through gaming and construction grants, initiating their own construction association, and providing a kickback of 10 euros per sold player ticket to the camp organizers.
